Come join our Speakers Programs, a series of talks and workshops by WRWC. Here we bring different speakers from all kinds of backgrounds to share their expertise with the community.

Emergency Preparedness Workshops

Partner: PEMA

Our Emergency Preparedness workshops are offered by the Providence Emergency Management Agency (PEMA). The workshop offers the community the basic information to prepare and respond in cases of emergency such as flooding, fires, or extreme heat.

Community Resource Distribution

Various partners

We collaborate with multiple organizations to bring free resources to our community. Examples of this include our Air filter making workshop with RIDOH, and our popular water filter distribution initiative with WRWC and Nine Neighborhood Fund.

Language Services

We offer multiple ways to increase language accessibility. All our programs are offered in English and Spanish. We offer English classes and language exchange nights to support the continuous learning of language and culture in our community.

Outcomes since our opening in 2024

Email ovreshub@wrwc.org to inquire about open dates and times. You can look at the website to view upcoming events to help choose available days. There is no rental cost to use the space, but any other event-related costs must becovered by the partner seeking to have the event. We usually offer all our events in English and Spanish OR have two sessions, one in English and one in Spanish. We can connect you with interpreters and/or childcare providers.

If your organization is community-led or the event is open to the community at no cost, using the space is free. For use of space expectations refer to our check list below.

We are not currently offering the space for private events.

Email ovreshub@wrwc.org with a short introduction of your organization/group and a brief description of the project. If there is an existing funding source or budget please let us know. If not, it is always useful to come with grant ideas.

Once date and times are settled, the hub can help with event outreach in the following ways:

  1. Creating a flyer, if one is not available.
  2. Sharing on social media – Facebook & Instagram.
  3. Doing two waves of text blasts to existing hub contacts. One wave is sent a week before the event; the second one is sent the day before.
  4. Putting the event on the website.
  5. Putting flyers at the hub’s physical location – bulletin board, rotational flyer display.
  6. Sharing with hub partners if appropriate.
  7. If the hub is tabling at an event before the date, we can take flyers to give out to the community.

Email Ovreshub@wrwc.org with basic information on how you are hoping to collaborate and please allows us at least 3 business days to follow up.
